The Northwood Lake pool was built in 1968 and looks much now as it did then. Many neighbors have memories of learning how to swim, being a life guard in their teens, or meeting with friends to enjoy beautiful sunny days. Music and laughter, splashes and fun are the sounds of summer at NWL Pool. Our neighborhood pool holds a lifetime of memories.
2020 Pool Season Hours
Monday-Saturday 10:00am - 7:00pm & Sunday 1:00pm-7:00pm
Absolutely NO alcohol, smoking or pets allowed at the pool
Children under 16 must pass a swimming test to be allowed in water greater than 5 feet deep (including use of the diving board)
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult, a person who is 18 years or older. If your children will be coming to the pool with a babysitter who is younger than 18 years old, you may petition the pool committee for an exemption.
Babies and toddlers must wear disposable swim diapers in the pool. This decreases the chance of an accident in the pools, which would necessitate closing the pool for proper cleaning and disinfecting.
Lifeguards on duty are responsible for safety within the pool enclosure. Their authority includes correcting any swimmers who break the rules.
The Pool Committee sets specific usage rules that must be followed. If you have any concerns or issues feel free to contact one of the following committee members: Brooke Freeman, NWL Pool Manager (205-614-1832) or Kelli Clark (205-535-8593).
guest fees and passes
Guest fees are $5 per person; limit of 4 guests per family per day. After fourth guest, guest fee increases to $10 per person. The only exceptions to guest limit are out of town guests. Please sign your guest(s) in. A Northwood Lake member must accompany guests.
NWL Pool offers guest passes for purchase at the concession stand during normal pool hours. Each guest pass costs $50 and will be good for one “free” guest entrance with a member each day. When signing in at the pool, simply show your guest pass card to the lifeguard. Each household may purchase as many guest passes as they would like. Each pass covers one guest per day.
The pool is available to rent for private parties.
The cost for a Recreational Resident Member is $150 ($125 for a two hour rental plus a mandatory $25 lifeguard fee).
The cost for everyone else is $210 ($185 for a two hour rental plus a mandatory $25 lifeguard fee).
**For residents and non residents there is an additional $25 lifeguard fee for parties over 25 people.
Parties may be scheduled on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm or Monday-Saturday mornings from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Parties may overlap pool hours (such as 6-8pm or 9-11am) but pool will remain open for members for scheduled hours.
The entire payment of $150 or $210 is due for all reservations in advance and will be refunded for cancellations. To rent the pavilion with a pool party is an additional $20 for resident members and $30 for non-residents. These costs will be added to the cost of a pool rental.
